Electrodes Cleaning Process • At the local of use:

Materials :

Prepare a Solution with:

Potable water - enough to cover the electrodes

Neutral detergent – 1/25 part of the water volume for the dilution

Process description:

At the end of the procedure place the electrodes in a vessel with the solution of water and neutral detergent and keep the electrodes for 10 to 20 minutes immersed on this solution. The electrodes must be totally immersed by the solution.

Proceed the materials to the exclusive cleaning area, keep  inside the vessel and totally immerse with the solution.

Neutral plate

Materials:

Alcohol 70° - 20ml for each Neutral Plate

Clean cloth

Process description: Clean the neutral plate with a slightly moist cloth with alcohol 70° until the Neutral Plate is clean. At the end of the procedure the Neutral Plate must not have any  organic soils, body fluids or another biological material.

THOROUGH CLEANING PROCESS - AT THE DESIGNATED CLEANING AREA:

Electrodes

Materials:

Soft plastic brush (do not use any abrasive materials or steel brushes)

Prepare a Solution with:

Potable water - enough to cover the electrodes

Neutral detergent – 1/25 part of the water volume for the dilution

Electrodes: firmly brush the electrodes with a soft plastic brush for at least 40 times on each side or enough to assure that are no more soils, body fluids or any other biological materials. Make a visual thorough inspection to make sure that are no more biological soils, stains, body fluids or any biological materials. Rinse the accessory to totally remove the solution residuals. After the visual inspection of the items thoroughly dry each one with gaze or a clean cloth. Make sure that the accessories are totally dry.

At his point, make a visual inspection to ensure that the accessories do not have scratches, welding ruptures, unacceptable stains, deterioration, such as corrosion, discoloration, pitting, etc.

Note: Do not use the electrode if it presents any of the characteristics listed above.

FINAL PROCESSING – DISINFECTION AND STERILIZATION

DISINFECTION PROCESS

This process is applied only for the Neutral Plate. This procedure is intended to make a lower level disinfection.

Materials:

Alcohol 70° - 20mL for each Neutral Plate

Clean cloth

Process description: Clean the neutral plate with a cloth slightly moist with alcohol 70° until the Neutral Plate is clean. At the end of the procedure the Neutral Plate must not have any  organic soils, body fluids or another biological material.

At this point, make a visual inspection to ensure that the Neutral Plate do not have scratches, welding ruptures, unacceptable stains, deterioration, such as corrosion, discoloration, pitting, etc.

STERILIZATION PROCESS

This process is applied for the electrodes. This procedure is intended to perform a sterilization process. The process description for EO and Steam sterilization are described below.

Packaging

Materials :

Sterilization bag for steam - according to the size of accessory, keeping the minimum of 1”of distance from the accessory to the package sides and 2” to the bottom and top; keep the same criteria to calculate the size of the outer package.

Process description: After the thorough cleaning process, pack the dry accessory inside the wrap keeping the minimum distance of 1” from the accessory to the package left and right sides, and 2” of the accessory to the bottom and the top of the package and weld the package. Use the same criteria to calculate the size of the outer package. Do not fold the inner package.

PARAMETERS FOR STEAM STERILIZATION

Dynamic air removal cycle:

Alternate between negative and positive pressure for 3 times each, according to the parameters listed below. The inner chamber must not have any air bubble inside, we suggest the use of a Bowie-Dick test sheet to make sure that are no bubbles inside.

• Vacuum cycle: - 2,0 kgf/cm2 for 90 seconds

• Steam cycle: + 1,5 kgf/cm2 for 90 seconds

• Steam temperature: > 100°C to 110°C

Steam sterilization cycle:

Consider the sterilization time only after the inner chamber reach the indicated temperature:

• Temperature: 132°C

• Steam pressure: > + 1,5 kgf/cm2

• Time: 4 minutes

Dry cycle:

• Time: 30 minutes

• Vacuum pressure: - 0,5 kgf/cm2

ETHILEN OXYD STERILIZATION

Packaging

Materials:

Sterilization bag for EO - according to the size of accessory, keeping the minimum of 1”of distance from the accessory to the package sides and 2” to the bottom and top; keep the same criteria to calculate the size of the outer package.

Parameters for Ethilen Oxyd sterilization

• Sterilizing agent:  EO - 90%;   CO2 - 10%

• Temperature:  50°C  ±10ºC

• Pressure: 0,00  ± 0,1 kgf/cm²

• Relative humidity ≥ 40%

• Exposure time: 240 minutes

• Aeration time: 360 minutes
